RapidWeaver for Mac is a great tool for people who know enough about Web design to want to stretch themselves beyond the confines of the most basic programs on the market.
It is not readily apparent how to use the blog editor. Uninspired blog feature: When you add a blog using the "add page" feature, the editor window that appears is very cramped and slightly confusing. The themes all look great, and immediately make your website look polished and professional even if you have no coding experience.ĭrag-and-drop resources: If you have resources stored on your computer that you're going to want to use for your website, RapidWeaver makes utilizing them easy, as you can just drag and drop them into the control window to utilize them in your site building. Great preinstalled themes: To make the design portion of building a website that much easier, RapidWeaver comes with a wide selection of preinstalled themes. Basic prompts on the screen all make sense, and within minutes of installation you're building a website. Interface leads the way: When you first open RapidWeaver, the interface very smoothly guides you to where you need to go to get started. It does this by combining drag-and-drop design and simple themes with the ability to create custom-coded pages and alterations to your website. These pages will be replaced in a later section after adding the Stacks plugin, so web building will only be taken to a very basic level in this section. Its intended purpose is to bridge the gap between very basic, beginner-level Web design programs and advanced software that is intended for professionals. Start building using Rapidweaver’s built-in page typesIn this section you’ll gain an overview of Rapidweaver’s interface and tools, and learn how to add several built-in page-types.
